Allison Majors 10/15

Ever since Puerto Rico’s hurricane, there has been a great challenge of having clean, filtered water. Residents are desperate to find clean water. When shipments of bottled water come in, residents will wait in very long lines outside of stores with hopes of buying bottled water before it's sold out. Deliveries from outside the island have not been able to keep up with the consumers’ demand. Stores have made it so that people are only allowed to buy 2 cases of water maximum. Puerto Ricans choose not to drink their local water because there have been rumors of infectious diseases going around.
It is terrible that these people are unable to easily receive bottled water. We drink clean water all day without even thinking about it. This relates to APUSH because when Washington’s army was at Valley Forge, they had shortages of many items including food and water. It was winter, making it brutally cold and many of his men died. British soldiers were resting in colonial homes (because of the quartering act), while patriots starved.

  1. I really wish I could be there to support them and help with whatever needs they have, because it's not fair that they have to go through this. Most people take simple things like clean water for granted and I think Trump is already rich with certain things that he doesn't understand how in need they are.
