Rachel Bozalis - 6 Year old SC Shooting Victim Dies

Jacob Hall was playing on the playground at school in Greenville, South Carolina last week when he and two others were shot by a fourteen year old boy who had also just shot his father. Both of the other two victims have survived, one of them being Jacobs teacher who was shot trying to protect Jacob. Jacob is described by his family as having been full of love and forgiveness and they are so grateful for the time he had in their lives. They believe that Jacob has already forgiven the boy who shot him, whose identity remains undisclosed because he is a minor, because that is the type of child Jacob was. The shooter is being tried with three accounts of attempted murder and one account of murder, his father. It is undecided as to whether or not he will be tried as an adult.

My sincerest support goes to Jacob's family as well as the families of the other victims. The motive behind the shooting has not been released/is not addressed in the article, but it was probably anger of some sort. I cannot believe that someone so young would commit a crime like this, and I hope that he is tried as an adult. This is a very serious crime and this boy should not be treated like a child. This reminds me of the civil rights movement of the 1960's, when many innocent african americans were targeted while doing everyday things, and those who committed the crimes were often treated lightly. I really hope to see less stories like these in the future.

  1. That's extremely sad for a six year old to be shot. I assuming this crime was't all his fault in the first place.

  3. This is such a horrible situation. And there are so many questions that should be dealt with such as how the fourteen year old got a gun in the first place and what compelled him to shoot innocent people.
