Summary: Hurricane Matthew is headed toward Haiti. It is a category 4 and is being considered highly dangerous. Haiti is still trying to rebuild from the earthquake that struck in 2010. It is expected to sustain its trip through the Bahamas from Tuesday night until Thursday afternoon. Jamaica is expected to avoid the worst of the storm, but still receive substantial amounts of rain. Matthew is expected tomake landfall on the US in Miami early Friday morning and continue its trip up the east coast.
Analysis: A lot of the islands in the Atlantic are third world countries. These areas get hit hard by natural disasters but do not have the resources to fully rebuild. These hurricanes also cause a lot of collateral. They carry throughout a vast region leaving every location they touch in ruins. Countries like Haiti who are still trying to recover from disasters that occurred years ago are continually being met by various obstacles that cannot be taken care of because of the poor financial state.
