Jordyn Chapman- Trump, companies accused of mistreating women in at least 20 lawsuits

Summary: In this article, the author explains the multiple lawsuits against Donald Trump, at least 20 of them accusing him of mistreating women. A video that was released recently showed Trump's sexists remarks and started great controversy. As well as an ongoing investigation that outlines Trump and his company managers who have been accused of discrimination, ignoring of sexual harassment complaints and participating in that same harassment themselves. One main example was that of a female supervisor employed at Trump National Golf Club who was reportedly pulled aside one day to be complained to about hiring. "I want you to get some good looking hostesses  here," he told Sue Kwiatkowski. He continued saying "People like to see good looking people when they come in." There were multiple instances of this as well as instances where a woman was fired for being "fat" and being fired for complaints about the harassment. The vice president for the Trump Organization told USA TODAY that the organization "has a strong policy and does not tolerate harassment of any kind...we promptly investigate any claims and discipline upon substantiation of those claims and have an open door policy to encourage reporting of any discrimination." Many cases have contradicted against these claims.
Analysis: This article was posted by John Kelly, Nick Penzenstadler, and Steve Reilly are, in respective order, editor, journalist, and reporter for USA today. It was released on October 9, 2016, last edited at 8:32 p.m. This article was written for a general audience in America to inform them of the importance of recognizing women's rights and the violation by someone who is running for president. It is important because equality for women is something very prevalent in our society now and has been for quite a while.
Synthesis- The main subject in this article can be connected to our history of women's rights. Up until 1920, women were unable to vote. That was the beginning to the movement today, and even so they don't have simple things like equal pay. The treatment of women in the past sometimes reflects things now.

  1. This was an atrocious incident. Hopefully this brings attention to just how bad Donald is and how imperative it is that we do not let him become president.
