Summary:
A four year old girl named Rebecca Lewis was kidnapped this past Saturday from her Florida home. Thankfully, she has recently been found in Memphis, Tennessee. Her kidnapper's name is West Wild Hogs, and is suspected to suffer from bipolar disorder. Hogs was spotted in Baptist Memorial Hospital and was taken into custody on the scene. The girl appears to have no injuries, and there is no explanation from Hogs as to why he took her. The kidnapper had actually lived with Rebecca's family when she was a baby, but was kicked out of the home when he pulled a gun on the family. This kidnapping set off amber alerts in over 5 states, but now the girl is safe and well.
Analysis:
I think that the family should have never let Hogs stay in the house to begin with, especially around an infant. The people you think you know and trust could end up doing something life-changing like taking your child, or hurting them. I think Amber Alerts should also be set off more often, and in wider state ranges; such as in this situation.

I talked about this same article. I agree that Amber alerts should be used more frequently, because without it some people may not be found soon enough.
ReplyDeleteI think that the family should have gone as far as pressing restraining order charges against Hogs, possibly preventing this whole incident to begin with. This is a nice piece that sets an example to all of those parents that they should take the utmost precautions with their children nowadays.
