Summary: A new law has been proposed in Poland which will completely ban abortions throughout the entire country. Though the law has not been officially passed, outrage has already arisen in the citizens. Women marched in the streets in all black during what they have called "Black Monday". This new law has already made some headway, and if successful, will sentence all women who are found to have had abortions, and the doctors involved, to jail. Women feel this is a violation of their human rights.
Analysis: I am a pro-choice advocate, and believe that abortion should be legal until fetal viability. I think what these women are doing is brave and necessary. The government should not have control over another woman's body, especially when the pregnancy is a consequence of rape and/or incest. This proposed law will call for a total ban of abortions, no matter what the circumstance. This to me is a complete violation of every human's inalienable rights, and goes against women's rights as a whole.
Synthesis: This event synthesizes to the supreme court case, Roe v. Wade. This decision ruled that a women has the right to decide whether or not she can have an abortion, making the total ban of abortions unconstitutional.

I completely agree! I also am pro-choice unless theres fetal viability. I think it's awful the government thinks they should be able to control someones body and unalienable rights. It's also not logical, if pro choice isn't allowed than the father of the child shouldn't be allowed to leave.
