Anna Wehrmann, 7th Pd. Hurricane Matthew
The hurricane that hit Haiti's southern shore this past week was devastating. It will have long lasting terrible affects for the people of Haiti, as their main food hub was hit and almost destroyed. Also, many small communities in desperate need of help have been cut off from this, as bridges and roads have been destroyed. Many people are debating over how the rest of the world will react, and help, and wondering if this help will actually be good for Haiti. Some believe that other countries will take advantage of this tragedy. I think that any countries even considering taking advantage of this is absolutely awful. the Haitian people have just had their homes and livelihoods destroyed. They are probably also going to have a food shortage for a while, as their food storage was destroyed. This entire thing is just horrible
