David Allen Norton- Long Island Train Derails
Recently, a commuter train in Long Island, CA, derailed, injuring 33 people. More is yet to be uncovered and I'm interested in seeing what caused this unfortunate event. This reminds me of early transportation in the U.S. It didn't always work, but we've progressed so much in modern transportation that hopefully something like this won't happen again.http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/09/us/long-island-train-derailment/index.html
This is really scary, considering we ride the train so often. We put a lot of trust into the public transport system, so when bad things like this happen, it kind of riles up some questions. I want to know what happened and how they plan to prevent it in the future.

As students, we use public transportation so much which makes this very scary for us. I hope we can prevent this in the future because it's a scary possibility that our transportation systems, which we rely so heavily on, could be very dangerous.
