NFL players protest on 9/11, by 4 of the players kneeling and one making a fist out of respect for the victims lost in the infamous terrorist attack. Some watchers were outraged that the players took an approach that could be considered disrespectful, but the Dolphins argued that everyone is allowed their own way to pay salute to tradgedy.

This is similar to how in colonial times people would worship God on different ways, and judge the people who did it differently. But it doesn't matter how you go about paying respect if deep down we all are thinking the same thing: respect everyone.
