Jordyn Chapman-Dozens of Dying Birds Rain From the Sky in Boston
Summary:
This article discusses the recent events of over 40 birds of the same species (grackle) mysteriously falling from the sky, 33 of which have been confirmed dead as well as two cats who suffered the same fate. In an interview, Lt. Alan Borgal, a person from the animal rescue league of Boston, said the weak birds would just fall straight out of the sky whilst others would attempt flying, but flop on the tree and fall to the ground. A nearby resident described the condition of the birds being as if "they were paralyzed on one side." The investigators of the scene have still yet to determined what exactly happened to the birds. There are many speculations on if it might have been poison, a disease that spread or something else.
Analysis:
The article was released today (September 10, 2016) on Huffington Post by a news editor by the name of Hilary Hanson. She presents information on a strange occurrence that has happened in our country today, to raise awareness on the fact that this mass death could have possibly human induced. This also connects to a reason why it is so important because it could be a way to make us more cautious. If it is a disease, especially one unknown, it could easily be spread. If a human caused it, it could be a way to invoke fear in the neighboring areas.
Synthesis: Our world is no stranger to the mass deaths of animals. They come in many ways, shapes, and forms. Depending on the cause of this recent situation, it can be connected to the impact disease has left in our world, much like that of the wide spread of disease that killed off most of the population in the events of travelling to the new world.

I really enjoyed reading the article. I agree that if this event is human induced, we really need to stop and check ourselves and what we're doing so we can avoid this situation and make sure nothing else happens to those poor grackles.
ReplyDeleteIt's so strange that no solid reason for the death of the birds has been released. It is especially important to know if it was caused by a disease so that we can quickly prevent the spread of it.
ReplyDeleteAliens killed them. It's a common when aliens land to have a very strong electric pulse that severely effects the nerves of birds. They become paralyzed and fall to the ground dead. Either that or the aliens are bad drivers.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Evan and the alien situation. I appreciate this article because no one ever recognizes the animals in this world anymore.
