What started out as a good looking day at a festival changed drastically in a matter of hours for former NFL player Will Smith. The defensive end for the New Orleans Saints was shot on Saturday night. Suspect Cardell Hayes, 28, is accused of killing him after they "exchanged words" in the street after having a traffic jam. As police have been investigating the shooting, a time line is emerging from interviews, records, and police statements about what happened that night.
It's too hard to pin point the exact words that were exchanged. Although I can't imagine any bad enough to kill someone like that. The timeline seems to be very well put together so investigators are getting closer and closer to finding out what really happened between the two during the incident. This isn't the first time something like this has happened, and it just goes to show that you should never let road rage get the best of you.
