Victoria Garza "California Enacts $15 Minimum Wage"

In California, Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill Monday stating that the minimum wage in California will be raised to $15.00 an hour by 2022. This bill was said to create a more equality in a system that has become unbalanced. Although the minimum wage will rise and the standard of living will increase, these changes will also lead to a rise in unemployment.
It is hard to feel completely in favor of this bill. Raising the minimum wage does increase the standard of living and will help people live more securely financially, however it will also lead to an increase in unemployment. I'm not sure if paying fewer people more and having more people become jobless is the best route to take. This is similar to the various programs created to increase jobs and help US citizens financially, such as those in the (second) New Deal programs.
