International Space Station astronaut Scott Kelly said in one of his final interviews that the Earth's atmosphere "looks very, very fragile" and "something that we need to take care of." The interview was conducted via satellite as Kelly doesn't plan on returning to Earth until March. The astronaut has remained active on his social medias and often voiced his opinion on the matter by providing with first hand photos. "There are definitely parts of Asia, Central America that when you look at them from space, you're always looking through a haze of pollution. This makes sense because of the large concentration of people in these areas.
Hearing from a person who has a first hand view on Earth that our planet looks "sick" really puts into perspective how bad in shape our planet is. There has been talk of global warming for years now and there have been extreme signs proving that the concept is plausible. This just really freaks me out especially with all of the natural disasters happening lately. Honestly its our job to keep our planet healthy. Serious efforts need to be made to clean up our planet and make it beautiful again.

ReplyDeleteI agree that they need to start finding ways to help Earth become strong and healthy again before it's too late.
Your title made me laugh, it's also funny that people still don't take this issue seriously. -Tymie Jadagu 6th P
ReplyDeleteThis is so crazy but unfortunately not surprising. I really hope people continue to become more informed about how we are impacting this planet. -Nicole Chatham 6th period

However sad and frustrating it is, I believe that the most necessary act in preserving our environment is getting big businesses that are currently numb to the detriment they are causing to care and take reformative action.
