Police nab homeless teen in on-campus killing of University of Texas freshman

This past Friday, the killer was confirmed over the murder of Heruka Weiser. A seventeen year old homeless man (Meechaiel Criner) was charged with first degree murder in the murder of Weiser. Weiner was last seen leaving the drama building on campus Sunday evening and her body was found on Tuesday in a nearby creek. Officers are saying, the route to her dorm is close to this creek and is the route she takes daily. They are assured to that conclusion because of the texts being sent to her friends around when all of this was going on. The homeless man was seen on surveillance camera pushing a women's bike that night. Come to find out the bike was Weiser's and that is the night she went missing. In addition to this, firefighters put out a trash fire near the scene of the crime on Monday and officers were told from localists the video of the wheelsman pushing the bike looked like the man who started fire looked. The man is in jail and the family says they know that Haruka would've wanted them to keep living life to the fullest and to not be stuck in sadness.

What a horrible story! This proves that we must stay aware of our surroundings and maintain defense. Crazy that this happened at UT which is where a lot of us know people who attend there. Whether it's at a school close to us or not, we must remember to stay attentive and be careful! What a tragic story it is.

  1. This story is scary and sad because going to college soon is nerve wracking enough, but now this is happening.
