North Caroline Governor Accepts Transgender People--Samantha Arthur 1st period

North Carolina softens it's stance on transsexuality and its stance on the gay community as a whole. They softened their stance to such a point, but halted at when the controversy of whether or not transgender people should use their birth certificate bathroom or not. Pat McCory, the state's Republican Governor claims to have expanded NC's equality when it comes to sexuality and employment rate. He also claims that he will fight for the right to sue if there is any transgender discrimination in NC.

North Carolina, and most of the non rural areas in the South are catching up with modern times and seem to be keeping up with contemporary morality. Like the moral shift in the 50s and 60s, America is fleeing from the once predetermined founding-father approach and leaning towards a more liberal point of view. There is still lots of controversy over whether this is good or bad, but I'm sure in the near future America will predominately lead towards one of the sides.

  1. I think it's great that people in North Carolina are starting to accept people for who they want to be.

  2. This is a huge step forward for North Carolina, considering that they were trying to legalize the discrimination recently.
