Kenley Turner 3rd period-Glass Fragments Prompt Food Recalls of Peppers and Cashews

Summery: Many Products manufactured by Snyder's-Lance have been recalled. Someone called the recall company and then they immediately alerted the manufacturer. An unrelated recall has been made for the same reason, by Roland Foods. Even though there was a very large amount of the products that were released, no injuries or illnesses have been reported yet.

Analysis: Obviously, in the food industry there is very little room for mistakes because it can be a threat to our health. However, because the food industry is a large business, they often like to cut corners regaurdless of our health. These instances can backfire, which is when there are recalls or epidemics. The movie Food Inc. visited this, when many people suffered from mad cow disease because of what they were feeding the cows, all to make things "cheaper". This is not a new issue either, as people in the late 1800's were experiancing disturbances in the food industry then, as addressed in Upton Sinclaire's, The Jungle.
