UC BERKELEY STUDENTS SUE UNIVERSITY OVER                                   SEXUAL HARASSMENT

Students Kathleen Gutierrez and Erin Bennett went public with their allegations on Monday towards assistant professor Blake Wentworth. Both students reported that Wentworth repeatedly toughed them and made sexual innuendos suggesting inappropriate behavior. Recently, the two girls have reported to the California Department of Fair Employment  and Housing, claiming that the University failed to act. Of course Mr. Wentworth has denied the allegations against him.

Since October of 2015 three employees at the University have resigned all due to harrassment allegations.

Kathleen Gutierrez reported the incident a year ago and then Erin Bennett said that she had suffered anxiety brought on by Mr. Wentworth. As of currently, Mr. Wentworth has been suspended from teaching and banned from certain areas on campus. The lawyer of the two students, Arabelle Mailinis said at least five other students had complained to the University about Mr. Wentworth.

  1. So many is societies all over the world don't regard sexual harassment and abuse to be a real issue... but most of those options being heard are being spoken by those who have never been impacted by sexual harassment so that is not entirely surprising... sadly, though.
