Giant Hail Strom Prediction Getting Better

Hailstorms are some of the most damaging type of storms that we experience.  They are also some of the most expensive storms that we encounter. Just recently having a major hailstorm pass through North Texas has changed some peoples’ lives forever.  Imagine having frozen ice balls the size of a softball falling out of the sky on top of you at the same rate of speed that most MLB pitchers throw.  North Texas residents have seen the effects of a bad hailstorm and the devastation that it leaves behind and it is not pretty.  Friends and family have lost cars, windows, and even their homes.  I shutter to think that a simple piece of ice can create so much havoc on a community, not to mention that the hail hurts when it hits you on your bare skin.

Analysis:

Patrick Kiger reports on the science of how to predict these types of storms, but all the science and math in the world cannot be precise.  He lends a brief glimpse that new research is going to narrow down the prediction and help scientist become better at predicting large hailstorms.  He believes that the new research that a group from the University of Oklahoma is doing will save lives, narrow down the precise time and strength of the storm and help weather forecasters to be more accurate in their attempts to inform the public.
I truly believe that storms are a part of Mother Nature’s ability to rid the world of much needed debris.  The flip side to that is that it is also a way for people to fall victim to insurance companies, contractors for hire for repairs and for con men to work overtime in their fields of expertise.  I do not believe that as humans we will ever be able to predict the true and precise arrival or strength of most hailstorms.  God is sending messages in all types of forms for us to receive and some are just a little stronger than others.
