Selling air // Kai Jones 1st period

In this article British entrepreneur Leo De Watts has  made lots of money from selling jars filled  with British air. The price for each bottle is $115. They put cold air into the jars so they can fit  more air in. Most of his customers are residents of the densely populated and polluted country of China. Shanghai and Beijing are some of the most air polluted cities in the world.

The rise in pollution started during the industrial revolution. During this era tons and tons of coal was being used to power factories and even more fuel was being burned during the gilded age. New inventions like the light build required electricity and all of that electricity was powered by burning coal and oil. This method of energy production is still used today and it is used even more so in China. The purchasing of air from different locations of the world as a luxury is certainly a sign that something has to be done about the air pollution in China.
