Disney cruise picks up migrants By: Emma Wall

http://www.cnn.com/2016/02/14/americas/disney-cruise-cuban-migrants/index.html

The article briefly talks about how a Disney Cruise picked up 12 suspected migrants.  They also discuss that this is not the first time that something like this has happened.  The article states that the 12 cubans were spotted on a "rustic" vessel around 8 pm on Saturday.

This causes me to wonder about dangers and other things.  I understand that if you are at sea and you see stranded people in the water, you automatically want to help.  It is human nature to save lives, at least for some.  The only problem is, what if these people are dangerous?  What if you are putting your passengers in danger by bringing them aboard the ship?  I am not denying the fact that it is the right thing to do, to bring them aboard. It just makes me wonder how they handle these situations.

  1. Yeah this is kind of crazy, also if I was on the ship I'd be kinda mad cuz I paid for my trip and they didn't, but if they looked lost or if they were drifting, I would for sure stop and help.

  2. I agree that this is strange behavior however it was probably a more difficult option to just leave them stranded there.

  3. I agree that the right thing to do is help them by letting them on board, but the risks could be very big. They shouldn't have made the decision on their own.
