Water crisis of the Hudson River Paul Radke (5th)

Summary- The waters of the Hudson River have been contaminated and are now considered toxic which has led all of the people in the town to have undrinkable tap water. what does this mean for the town? Is there a solution to this problem and how long will it take to fix this?

Analysis- What will it take to clean the waters in Flint? The answer lies behind a lot of money and science. The water in Flint has gotten so bad it is now toxic to drink and the only source of water is the water they get from shipments out of the city. These toxic waters not only have led to undrinkable tap water but they will also have to go in and replace all of the pipes that the water traveled through which will take a lot of time and effort. There is no permanent fix for this problem but they have given out more than 27,000 cases of water which has helped. This problem is a big one that has to be fixed which will take a long time.

  1. I think it is awful that the government in Flint knew about the problem for so long, but did not want to put in the money and effort it takes to fix it. Now they have such a large crisis on their hands, and this mistake has caused a lot of problems for the citizens of FLint. -Claudia Anthony
