Three U.S. students killed in Honduras bus crash - Christa Hamby P1

A bus carrying a group of Columbia University and Barnard College student volunteers in Honduras crashed on Wednesday killing three people. Those killed were Columbia College student Olivia Erhardt, Barnard College student Daniella Moffson, and Abigail Flanagan, a nurse practitioner at Columbia University Medical Center and a General Studies student, according to an email sent to students by Columbia President Lee C. Bollinger and forwarded to USA TODAY College.

Students are raped, mugged, murdered, kidnapped, raped, drugged, taken to unsafe places, on unsafe roads, in unsafe vehicles, placed in unsafe housing and host homes. There are no governmental agency task with tracking deaths and injuries. Study abroad is federally funded - $150 billion. The only way things will change is if the families of the tragedy, their friends and family stand up together, and YOU The Students, then our goverment will listen. The government goal is to double the numbers of study abroad. Many colleges now mandate study abroad as a graduation requirement. Yes, there are NO LAWS that protect students abroad and the rights of justice in our court system.
