Summary: On Sunday, November 23, at 7:00 p.m., the United States issued a worldwide terrorist alert as threats are continuing to be around. With the Thanksgiving Holiday coming up, large crowds in big cities, such as the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, are to be extremely secured with layers of police. However, the big threats to watch out for are the individuals in local places that may be prepared to attack at any time. "Soft spots", they are calling them. The alert issued states that people everywhere should be aware of there surroundings and when traveling, they should have their "alert" on at all times.
Analysis: This threat was scary when I read about it because I am flying out by myself on Thanksgiving to New York City during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I was already nervous to fly by myself, but with this new threat, I have to be extra careful. This threat can relate back to the 1840's when the South of the United States threatened to succeed if a Republican President was elected. This threat was something to be aware of, and that is why for many years, the United States had a democrat as the President. However, in the election of 1860, President Abraham Lincoln was elected, a Republican, which sent the United States into a fuss. I think we should keep our security on from now on until they catch every last one of the people in ISIS.

This is very alarming because of the increasing amount of people traveling over the holidays. Tourist attractions such a New York will be full of people and a very easy target for terrorists, so we need to be even more careful than normal this time of year, with everything that is happening recently.
