"Speak Your Opinion" - Aleah Washington 1st period

Tarantino felt the need to speak up and out about the excessive force of police. He was at an "anti- police brutality rally" and the speech that he made caught many peoples attention. Some even felt as if he took it too far. A main line noticed was,"  I have to call a murder a murder and I have to call the murders the murders." People, especially officers took this the wrong way because many cases lately have been dealing with the death of people by officers and was at an anti-police rally.
Police unions in different countries are boycotting against his new movie since he made some uncomfortable comments.

The freedom of speech is in the first amendment in the constitution. I feel like people are misinterpreting his statements and are taking the focus off the main situation. The freedom of speech means we can speak freely about what we choose. I feel like the many people trying to get others to boycott his movie should try to understand what he is thinking and feeling before judging him.
