It was recently revealed in an investors webcast that the San Diego Sea World will be doing away with the killer whale show. This is due to a large number of complaints, concerns and protests regarding the animals' treatment, facilities, and overall existence in a tank several thousand sizes to small.
It's fantastic that they are getting rid of the small tanks and poor treatment of the whales. It's a shame that it is only due to people's complaints, not the concern of the animals. For thousands of years, humans have been handling animals and harming them, purely for personal entertainment. It's good to know that people are now realizing we are not alone on this earth, there are billions of other organisms we need to protect and cherish. This is only the beginning. We still have a long way to go.
This is good, its sad that most people dont know how terrible sea world is or they choose to ignore it so they can have fun
