A national guard combat medic was in her home while breast-feeding her 4 month old son, when intruders barged in. As they entered the home and opened fire, the mother returned fire with her own weapon. She suffered at least 2 gunshot wounds, but her son was unharmed. She now remains in the Carolinas Medical center, and is recovering from her wounds.
This is an amazing story, and if the woman didn't have the right to have a weapon at her home, she would have had no method of defending herself from the attackers. This is why we have the second amendment, or the right to bear arms. It was added to the constitution in order to protect people, and without it, many people would be defenseless in similar situations.
