Ava Cosentino - University of Missouri President

Summary:
University of Missouri President (now former president) resigned Monday. Tim Wolfe stepped down after being accused by several students, faculty, and football team accused him for turning a blind eye to racial tensions when they felt they should have been addressed. Wolfe however did step down with out too much refusal; He took full responsibility for what happened and agreed with the students when they said that their complaints were relevant and understood.

Analysis:
I believe that the people of the college who spoke up were correct to do so. The 8 percent of minorities at the school all said that they had gone to him about frequent racial slurs and different racial disrespects that have gone on in the time that Wolfe had been working at the school, and say that he never addressed any of the issues. No matter where or why, any type of racial problems should always be addressed by administration, especially in a state that has had very recent racial problems. This reminds me of the time period before Abolition and even before and after, when several people decided to turn a blind eye to the mistreatment of African American people. Even if the roles were switched, I still believe that the problem should be analyzed and dealt with with great focus.
