Quentin Tarantino's movie outrage Julie shilling p.4

Quentin Tarantino's movie sparks controversy
Tarantino spoke about the excessive force / brutality incidents of police. In his movie it shows him at an "anti- police brutality rally" making many comments about the police. Most felt as if he took it too far.  Police unions in different countries are boycotting against his new movie because of his disturbing comments he made directed against the police.

The freedom of speech is in the first amendment in the constitution. This person has the right to say whatever they choose, however that doesn't mean what they are saying is right, yes, I agree that police brutality is a big problem, and many people have been killed,  Something needs to be done to prevent any more incidents from happening. However police are here to protect the people, the majority of all policemen are good people and do their job correctly protecting and serving the people. There have also been recent murders specifically targeting innocent policemen by the people simply out of hatred and anger. This is another issue that also needs to be stopped as soon as possible. Quentin Tarantino making the comment that suggests every policeman is a murderer is completely insane and deserved an outrage and much controversy.   He later said to the press that he did not mean what he said and attempted to apologize for his words; this was felt as un-genuine and was not accepted by many people.

  1. I love Tarentino but that was terrible to say. Mindless retaliation against police officers out of anger and hatred is not the at to go about things. Something needs to be done about the cruelty that cops do, but there are still many good police officers that should not be blamed for the actions of others.

  2. Ok, I read the article because this surprises me. First of all, it's his natural right to express his opinion. That alone invalidates any legal attacks against him. And the argument that he antagonizes police in his work doesn't make sense to me-
the anti-hero type is now so common in film that law enforcement is a natural antagonist. And that type of character isn't specific to Tarantino. It's universal. They can't boycott him without boycotting countless other filmmakers.
Plus, how can they accuse him of portraying all cops as murderers? Freddy Newandyke was a cop and he was the good guy!
