On Saturday October 31, a Russian plane crashed in Egypt. It broke apart while in midair, causing it to crash and kill everyone on board. It is currently unclear why the plane crashed--it is cited as being from "external influences" (although it's unclear exactly what that means.) Member of the crew didn't radio in for help or send any distress signals prior to the crash, and it is totally unclear what actually happened.
This is very mysterious! Even with all the facts they have, they are still not able to figure out (yet) exactly what happened. This reminds of how in American History, and history in general, it can be hard to tell exactly what happened--because sources can be unclear and there may no actualy recording of what happened, so historians have to work very hard to piece together evidence and create a picture of what they think happened. I hope that they are able to find out how this happened!

I heard about this on the news this morning. Some people blame ISIS missiles, but the ones they have wouldn't be able to reach the altitude of the plane. Mysterious crashes are always so mind boggling!

ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to read this now and realize how much things can change in a day! They previously had fully ruled out ISIS of having and involvement, but now they are claiming that it probably was ISIS! They believe that ISIS somehow snuck a bomb onto the plane which is what caused it to go down.
