In this article the truths and myths of daylight savings time are discussed. This falling back and springing forward shows negative effects on people's overall health and quality of life. It also doesn't save very much energy at all. Energy usage is reduced only about 0.03%. Also, another study showed that daylight savings time might actually increase energy consumption. There is also a myth that daylight saving was created to help farmers but they actually fought against it. They said it decreased their amount of productivity and made life harder for them. More and more Americans believe that daylight savings is obsolete.
I think that daylight saving time is useless because it does not save time or energy and it just makes everyone extra confused for a few days while adjusting to new times. The practice of Daylight Saving has been inconsistent throughout U.S history. It was first implemented in the U.S during World War I in an effort to save energy. The law was repealed in 1919 because so many people hated it and I hope it gets repealed again.
Bernadette Negrete:I agree with your opinion. In mexico there are no daylight saving time changes, its the same year round. And I realize Mexico has many flaws but their time changes arnt.
ReplyDeleteYeah I was discussing this issue with someone yesterday and they said that they used to live in New Mexico and they don't change the times. I think that would be better, especially if it doesn't really help save energy all that much.

I think daylight savings is great, but I mean, it really doesn't affect much so what's the point. I totally agree with the opinion.
