Chipotle and Antibiotics
Frequently large food companies will produce meals that are not up to the standard they claim. This became a problem for Chipotle recently after customers were possible infected with the e coli virus. Chipotle is known for is opposition to using meat for any animals that have been given antibiotics. However, because of the e coli Chipotle is running out of pork and now using pork from a British supplier that doesn't have the same objections to antibiotics.
Quality of meat has been a concern in the US for a very long time. In the late 19th century meat packing was a large industry in many places in the US, especially Chicago. The conditions of these meat packing plants were awful and things like human fingers often ended up in things like sausage. The book "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair exposed these conditions. Hopefully people will continue to critically judge the quality of food in the US.
