From 'paused UFOs' in Cape Town to Goku in California, this weekend has sure been a weird one. Yesterday, Southern California's night sky was visited by an odd light in the sky, resembling a flashlight. The police got many calls and Southern California residents were panicing. Unfortunately for all those with blogs about weird stuff, this wasn't Lil Mayo's return to South Cali. The light was actually a missile being tested. It was unarmed, planned prior to the event, and did not serve as a threat.
America, and the rest of the world, has seen its fair share of 'supernatural' happenings. From the disappearances on Kholat in Russia to the Bermuda triangle by the Pacific coast of the US, these happenings seem to be increasing in activity and not stopping anytime soon. These happenings may have even startled explorers when moving westward or even discovering the Bahamas. Although some have been solved, it's the unsolved ones that stick. Cultures intertwined with the happenings, being influenced by a bush moving while the chief's peeing in the woods, staying up late at night because of a shadow by your window. Eventhough it's probably just a tree, our minds contort the simplest things to scare us. Delaying discoveries, making things harder than they should be. All of the faults in exploration of the 'Uncharted' can almost always be caused by fear of the unknown -- that and your partners leaving you at the dock in the beginning of the game.

ReplyDeleteMatthew Homsher 9th- Supernatural events are best explained logically.
ReplyDeleteI love discussing aliens and other seemingly unexplainable supernatural events, but there is usually some sort of scientific and logical explanation for them. That being said, discussion of supernatural events is an important part of our culture, and life would be extremely boring without the occasional scare.
