Human sent to Mars in a Sleeper spaceship - Princess Strickland
If you have seen the movies where astronauts or scientist are put to sleep then sent to different moments in time or sent to the past or even sent into out of space, then you know how farfetched the notion sounds. Well, it's happening in reality in not to distant of a future. Astronauts will be put into a hyper sleep state for the duration of their space flight, then awaken once they reach their celestial destination. Yes, hibernation, like bears. The astronauts would have to be sleep as long as 180 days to make it to Mars. In common terms, that's half of a year SLEEP. Who wants to be sleep half a year? Let's not think about natural occurring body functions and elimination. I can imagine half of the crew would probably not awake on arrival. The tests to make this a reality will be interesting and scary. Initially, they are going to test on animals. Not sure why since the bear has already mastered this piece of science. Then, they will begin testing on humans to see what the effects would be. This means heart rates will slow down. I wonder will aging slow down. At any rate, there will have to be extensive testing done before this new program is reality.
This article was created by Ben Brumfield,October 12, 2014. Okay, even seeing this happen in movies is awesome, but actually doing it in reality in very terrifying. If the Hibernation ship is a success, then that really shows the advancement of technology. One is never sure how technology is going to work, for example we have the Apollo mission which was a great success then there's the Challenger disaster. For the people involved, good luck!
