Oregon cancer patient, Brittany Maynard, took fatal drugs to end her life after being told she had six months to live with aggressive brain cancer. Oregon is one of four states that includes Death with Dignity.

Analysis: I think it;s very sad that she decided taking her life would be better than the cancer. This is part of the ninth amendment. If a person chooses to end their life, it is their choice and deserve to be able to go along with it. If I were a patient dying from terminal brain cancer and in serious pain, I would most likely ask for the fatal drugs also.
I think the right decision in this case is what the patient wanted. Ultimately we are in charge of our own lives
ReplyDeleteI think that this is an interesting perspective on how one should deal with death as they are (inevitably) confronted with it. I agree, that if this should be someone's choice, they are entitled to end their life through peaceful means, rather than suffer.
