On flight 2846, the pilot on the plane came onto the intercom and announced that there was an infected person with tuberculous. A man on his way from Austin to Arizona was removed from the plane later on. The flight attendants were telling everyone aboard the flight to contact their physicians immediately! Later on Dr. Rebecca Sunshine said that the risks of getting this infection is very low and the Arizona Health Officials do not recommend seeing a doctor.
If you know you are sick, do not get on a plane and risk getting others infected and waste your money on a ticket you might get trown out of. I think it was wrong of them to throw the poor guy off of the plane. I think they could've put a mask on his face and contained him in a seperate room maybe... I think he souldve gotten a refund on his ticket and sued the airport.

I agree, but it's nice to see that the plane took precautions for the others on the plane too.
ReplyDeleteIt's good that they were looking out for people's health, but to call out the infected man over the intercom is kind of rude and embarrassing for the guy. Plus, if the risks for catching the infection are low, why did they make such a big deal out of it?
ReplyDeleteIf you know that you possibly have TB, an infectious and sometimes deadly infection, why would get on a public plane in the first place?!?! I'm glad that the flight crew took precautions but it still doesn't make any sense to me as to why sometime would be out in public like this if they have a highly infectious disease. I'm also happy to hear that the people on the flight are at a low risk of getting the infection.
