Today on monday November 4th, around 9:20 pm, gunshots were heard inside Westfield Garden State Plaza Mall in New jersey. People said they heard around 6 or 7 gunshots and several witnesses even believed they saw a gunman in all black walking outside a store they were hiding in. Many people closed down their shops and turned all the lights and music off so they wouldn't be seen.

As of now, there have been no known injuries, and they still haven't caught the shooter. Shoppers say that the store is under lockdown and people are being evacuated.

This is very unfortunate, but on the bright side no one was hurt. However this is similar to the incident that happened in the LAX airport, both were very close timing wise.

  1. This is crazy, who goes into a mall and starts to shot. What is the purpose for this?

  2. I feel as though shootings in general have risen over the years. It's sad that public places such as schools and malls can be so dangerous. It's very good that no one was hurt, though.

  3. I seriously don't understand why people go to places and just start shooting. I can't rap my head around the idea that people are out in the world that would do this. I am glad that no one got hurt. -Nia Edwards 4th

  4. Many people gain pleasure from knowing they are in control. They like to know that they were able to cause an entire mall to shutdown just by firing a few gunshots. This is also evidence to the dangers of not being busy and having nothing to do for long periods of time. "Idle hands are a workshop for the devil." By staying busy, our minds are less susceptible to thinking about doing bad things.

  5. ...shootings are irritating. It's come to the point now where people think, "Another shooting? Really?" The children that become traumatized by these shootings will speak out when they are older. There may even be some law changed because of them. We'l have to see.
