US Airline Passengers Use TSA PreCheck Program

Summary:
This last week, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is speeding up the security program in 60 new U.S. airports by letting more people through without having to take their shoes off. The TSA PreCheck program allows pre-approved travelers to keep their shoes, belts, and light outerwear on as they go through the security process. Also, laptops do not have to be taken out of their cases or the right sized liquids do not have to be checked.
American citizens who travel often can use the PreCheck program. The applicants must pay an $85 fee for a five year plan. The barcode of the passenger's boarding pass will have a TSA PreCheck number that allows them to be sent to the quicker screening line. This removes the "low-risk" travelers from the original line, reducing the number of people and speeding up the process. However, every once in a while, passengers may be randomly sent to the regular security line. This program has become quite popular, considering more than 15 million people have used it since it has been released in 2011.

Analysis:
Personally, I do not agree with the TSA PreCheck program. People can't always be trusted. I believe this may raise the chance for passengers to sneak in weapons, drugs, and more things they are not supposed to. The airport security could start to become more lenient, accidentally allowing people to get by with things. Plus, is paying an $85 fee every five years just to keep your shoes on in a faster line really worth it?
