JFK assasination anniversary in Dallas to be Marked with works of art on love throughout the city Ilana Lemack

Summary:
30,000 works of art reflecting love will be displayed around Dallas this fall in rememberance of the 50th anniversary of the assasination of President John F. Kennedy. The art organization putting this together is nonprofit and began to display works of art as part of its Dallas LOVE project to show that Dallas is not the "City of Hate" that it was branded as in 1963. The art pieces are created by a range of people, including school children, people in the business world, and residents of senior centers. They will be displayed along the Kennedy motorcade route. Kim Blann, director of fine arts for the Keller school district of northwest Dallas said that she initially thought they would struggle to get 10,000 pieces of artwork, but it has grown to be so much more.

Analysis:
I think that it is great that so many residents of Dallas are taking part in such a special event. I don't know why our school is unaware of this, since we are in Dallas Independent School District. Dallas should not be labeled as a "City Of Hate" because of one incident that occured here. One insane person should not label an entire city. Dallas is a loving city and I hope that this project can go worldwide and show people that Dallas is a city full of love.
