People Behind Planned Parenthood Videos Indicted Emily Rosuck 4th

We all know about the Planned Parenthood videos: An organization called the Center for Medical Progress allegedly had meetings with official member of Planned Parenthood discussing the harvesting and sale of fetal tissue and organs. In the US, it is legal to use fetal tissue for research, but not for profit. This put Planned Parenthood under a huge fire and even led to the De-Fund Planned Parenthood movement.
After a lengthy investigation, not only did Texas government find that Planned Parenthood had no wrongdoing, but they ended up indicting David Daleiden and Sandra Meritt, two anti-abortion activists who were the masterminds behind the fraudulent videos. Daleiden, who was the founder of the Center for Medical Progress, was also charged with violating a prohibition on the purchase and sale of human organs. People broke the law in order to spread malicious lies about Planned Parenthood when in reality, the only crime done were those who were behind the accusations.
The acknowledgment of Planned Parenthood as a legitimate, law abiding organization is a huge step for Texas government. In such a Republican state, it's hard to find our politicians advocating women's reproductive rights, especially terminating a pregnancy. But this week justice was finally served, those who did the crime were indicted and condemned while Planned Parenthood remains.

Kicked to the Curb: GOP Replaces NBC with CNN for February Debate

Debates from the candidates for this 2016 election are very popular and should be seen by everyone. CNN is not broadcasting the debate in Houston which is very strange for them not to broadcast it specifically there. I feel as if the first amendment is being violated which is freedom of speech.
Also Cruz commented that the questions being asked where, "inaccurate[...]downright offensive."

Tristan Spohn 3rd Period

Rookie Jameis Winston has taken  Tom Brady's Pro Bowl spot after Brady declined to play in the game. Against all odds I came up with brilliant synthesis to american history.

Analysis: This reminds me of the election of 1912. Teddy Roosevelt very easily could have won the election, just as Brady earned his spot in the pro bowl. however Roosevelt stayed true to his word that he would not run for a third consecutive term. It just so happens Brady has been in consecutive pro bowls as well ;) Both Taft and Winston would not have become enshrined in their perspective positions had their peers no opted to sit out of the competition.

Protests outside Phoenix, Arizona school, Desert Vista , After Racial Slur Photos

summary: Some members of the NAACP protested outside of Desert Vista highschool in Phoenix, Arizona for their displayment of racial slur on t-shirts which said, N**er, by 6 Seniors on their social media accounts. The picture was originally for their class panoramic pictures which the message was, Best You've Have Ever Seen Class of 2016. 6 girls went out of their way to arrange their letters on their shirts to form the racial slur , N**ger. There have been outrage, disappointed and frustration from this event, a petition have been even made to receive justice for this racist action. Their only punishment they have received is a 5- day suspension, not anything else. The petition is for the decline want and evoking of all of the girls scholarships for their actions.



  Analysis: It's 2016. This is the epitome of white privellege and white superority. First of all their have been more than one instance of racial incidents at Desert Vista highschool, but no punishment for the students wrong doings. RACISM HAS NEVER LEFT. It's is intuitionalized, systematic and taught within the homes of these students. Racism is a learned behavior. Now how can some racist white girls get away with brodcasting racial slurs on their shirts but a Muslim boy was ASSUMED to have a bomb, interrogated and taken into custody because of assumptions. How can they get little to no punishment for their consequences and there are black kids who are dehumanized, killed, assaulted etc, JUST FOR BEING BLACK. A black eighth grader was sent to the principal's office because her natural hair was too "poofy" and "unprofessional". Black people have face ( and still do) so much discrimination just for our skin color. This is why #blacklivesmatter, for the type of incidents like this.

McDonalds up on the charts -Avery Yoss

Ever since Steve Easterbrook has become CEO for McDonald's it has been nothing but good news for everyone there. His most recent idea, to keep the breakfast menu all day, has been such a hit it even made the news. McDonald's is making a comeback with everyone's favorite breakfast items leading the way. McDonald's sales have been souring thanks to this brilliant idea by Easterbrook.

I think this is good thing for McDonald's and even though they are not the healthiest choice, it is a quick, cheap and easy choice for a meal. Good job Steve Easterbrook.

after east coast blizzard, the cleanup and the work begins

The snowstorms that have been hitting the east coast have reached record numbers. It's going down in history as one of the worst snowstorms of all time. People are getting stuck and the amount of fatalities is rising as well. The snowstorm can be related to the hardships the colonist faced during the winter especially during the revolution in Valley Forge where the soldiers didnt have the proper attire to be in the cold and the amount of fatalities because of the cold where pretty gruesome.

MONEY MONEY MONEY Julia Woltjen (3rd period)

SUMMARY:
A group of co-workers recently went in on the Powerball and pooled their money together. One of the tickets they collectively bought won and was worth 50,000 dollars. They have split the money equally and after taxes were taken out each worker received somewhere around $1500. They were all able to take a vacation down to Salem to pick up their winnings.

ANALYSIS:
(This sounds fantastic and amazing, I hope someday my coworkers are that cool.) The lottery reminds me of the Gold vs. Silver standard because, with the silver standard there would have been more money immediately available but after a while that money would lose value. The lottery does this as well, if you win you see this amazingly large number that fools you. After taxes are taken out, this awesome number drops and leaves you with something much smaller than what you had in the beginning. Don't be fooled. (wow that took a cynical turn)
