The article I chose is about Denver educators that have been promised par raises as a part of a tentative deal they reached with their school district after three days on strike. Under the agreement between Denver Public Schools and the Denver Classroom Teachers Association, educators would see between 7% and 11% icreases to their base saleries and a 20 step salary schedule. The agreement would also put an end to "exorbitant five-figure bonuses" for senior administrators, the union said. Teachers went on strike to demand for higher, stable salaries, becaue the district uses unpredictable bonuses to ocmpensate for low base pay. In addition. they hoped higher slaries would keep more educators from leaving the city.
This even relates to May 1969, Chicago teachers go on strike for the first time in the city's history. The strike was resolved after one day when teachers agreed to an increae in salary of $100 a month, raising starting pay of teachers agreed to $8,400. The contract also guaranteed regurlarly assigned teachers wouldn't be dismissed, established the maximum allowed students in each course, and guaranteed that no educational programs would be eliminated.
I think that teachers deserve more considering that they teach the next generation.

I can see both sides of why they should get a raise and why they shouldn't. There's teachers who work so hard and put so much dedication into there work but there's also teachers who lack the amount of effort they put into there teaching.
