Trump administration unsure if thousands more migrant families were separated than originally estimated, legal filing shows

Last year the issue of family separation shocked the country. It was denounced as being inhumane by a large majority of the population. The separation of children from their parents was appalling to many, leading to it quickly be ended, but not before thousands of children were separated. It has been brought to light that the initial numbers we had been informed of were potentially off by several thousands. Due to the extreme inaccuracy of the system keeping track of the children, the numbers were likely extremely skewed. The whole push against immigration in general infuriates me, as there are very few examples in history of immigration hurting economies.
This reminds me of Nativism and the push against immigrants in U.S. history.
