"Democrats launch 10-year 'Green New Deal' for clean energy" Youssef Bakr

(This is rather old news at this point, but I really wanted to do a post about it.)

The possibly the most unqualified congressperson, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, has put forth a ridiculous plan whose goal is to have "net-zero greenhouse gas emissions" within an unrealistic time frame of 10 years. Other Democrats, such as Kamala Harris, have supported the proposition.

The Green New Deal is a radical plan with many flaws. First off, it pledged to provide economic security for those who are unable or "unwilling to work." This is simply nonsensical. The government will provide payment to those who just don't feel like working? Other problems it puts forth include rebuilding or renovating every single structure in the country and phasing out airplanes in favor of railroads.

The atrocity and blatant idiocy of this plan is related to that of the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798.
