Gun seized from 6-year-old kindergartner walking into school -Alma Alvarado- Cabrera-

A kindergartner in Ohio was seen walking into school with what seem to be a gun in his pants . Later, Columbus  police didn't disclose whether the gun was loaded Friday when it was taken from a student at Columbus Africentric Early College . Police then shared photos that showed bullets with the seized firearm. Police won't charge the kid because he's so young , yet police will further investigate to see where he got the weapon . Principal Tyree Pollard said in a letter to the student parents that he '' will face appropriate discipline '' but didn't specify what that would be .

This article was written by The Associated Press , Columbus ,Ohio and published by abcNews in January 12,2019. I didn't know this happened last Friday , but as I was reading the article I became really concerned about how young kids can even have access to weapons and how parents should really keep an eye on their kids and talk to them about the issues with gun violence .  In 2018 there was  307 massive gun shootings in the U.S . This article is for parents to be aware of their kids and to encourage them to talk to their kids about the real dangers of a weapon .  The author wants students to be safe and to keep the schools safe without any weapons .

  1. This is both sad and horrible! Kids are kind of like sponges, they absorb everything they see and hear. It is sad to think that this kid grows up in a place where gun violence is everywhere.

  2. This is sad and lots of unanswered questions like where did the gun come from, how where to parents unaware, why did the kid have the gun. Its just really sad with everything that is going on now.
