Sexual Harassment in Politics

In the past, awareness of sexual harassment was practically unheard of, especially in politics. Now, one case is being brought to light. Over 30 women have accused the Alabama Republican Senate nominee Roy Moore of sexual misconduct. Several courses of action have been debated, but not decided. It is unclear what the truth is as Moore has not admitted to anything. Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Senate Majority leader, believes he needs to step out of the race. He is making sure the women are being heard.

This is so important. Of course, women are supposed to be equal in our society but it never really works that way. We have dealt with harassment for far too long and are finally being heard. As happy as it makes me that people are making an effort to take away this man’s power, it’s frustrating that this is the first we’ve witnessed this happening in politics. Hopefully this is just the first step towards a more aware and equal society.

  2. I believe everyone deserves equality, but some deserve it slightly less than others. It's not okay that these events took place, but I'm glad that there's solutions arising.

  3. While the events that occurred are tragic, I'm glad that these cases are coming to light. I am also glad that Mitch McConnell is calling out Moore and not defending him. Hopefully any other cases of sexual misconduct will be revealed so that these horrific assaults will stop.
