This Sunday in Sutherland Springs, Texas, Devin Patrick Kelley killed 26 innocent people attending church. His mother in law was at church that day but fortunately wasn’t inside. The ages of the victims range from 18 months old to to 77 years old. After he left the church he was shot by an armed resident and fled. His body was found miles away from the church in his car. This horrible event caused 4% of the towns population dead. This is the largest mass shooting in Texas history. 20 people were wounded and 10 are in critical condition. Before he shot himself, he called his father and told him he wasn’t coming back. Kelley was in the air force. The motives for his actions are still unclear.
This horrible tragedy will affect Texas’s history and US history. This event is the largest mass shooting in Texas history and also the largest church shooting in our country’s history. This shooting will cause regular citizens to be scared to go to church after what happened. Church is a safe place and shouldn’t be feared of. Our prayers go to the familes who have lost a loved one and all the people affected by this tragedy.
I agree that Church should be and is a safe place and shouldn’t be feared of.
ReplyDeleteThis is truly a terrible event, and I don't think church is the only place that should be safe; no one should go anywhere in this nation or in the entire world and fear they may be killed for no reason, be it church, a running path, or a music concert.
