An investigation was launched by Italian authorities to find out what exactly happened to the girls who were found dead in the Mediterranean Sea. The teenage girls are thought to have been making a journey from Libya to Europe, which is very very difficult. When rescuers arrived, they found their bodies close to a sunken dinghy. The girls were traveling by boat and were believed to be some of the people that were allowed to leave the Liberian detention centers. It is also most likely that the reason they were released is because people can not make enough money off them in various trades.

First of all, it is incredibly horrible that these women were being smuggled and traded in the first place. Then, once they're of no use anymore they just get thrown out and put through a dangerous journey to Italy. The worst part is that authorities expect this to keep happening over the next couple of weeks because more journeys of these women are thought to take place. This dynamic exists because it's allowed to exist. Really makes you think.
