Olivia Wall period 8

In Monrovia, Liberia a democracy had finally started to take place. The local village people have been cheering and celebrating their new people run government. Their parent country is the United States, and it was founded by free black slaves. It is a very Christian based country, but people say they would even argue over whether to vote for Jesus when he comes down. That just goes to show how hard it is to decide what government should rule because it is so divided. There are many candidates that are up for president, and it will be interesting to see which democracy leading leader will get chosen.

This is written to inform the people of the world of the advancement in economic, political, and social actions of countries in Africa. This relates to APUSH because it is exactly what the founding fathers in the colonists dealt with after they became independent from Britain. They were trying to figure out what government system would be best. They were very divided just like they are in Liberia. I hope that their country only grows and that the best candidate is chosen.

  1. It is so interesting seeing this new government form. As a country born this way, maybe this a can be an opportunity to remember that America was built on freedom, and for Monrovia to learn from our mistakes when building their government.

    1. I can't help but be concerned, though. New forms of government might be the demise of a country! It is concerning, especially in a time like this, where the whole world is already extremely tense.
