Missing girl in Richardson Texas- Victoria Bruno

Sherin Mathews, a 3 year-old girl, has been missing since Saturday. Her father, Wesley Mathews, was the last person to have saw her. Allegedly, he told Sherin to stand next to the tree in the backyard at 3 a.m. as a punishment, because she wouldn't drink her milk. The reason as to why she was punished for this, apparently, was because she was adopted when she was malnourished, so it wasn't uncommon to gain calories at night. Whatever the reasoning, Wesley Mathews was arrested for abandoning or endangering a child.

Police have also found it strange, because of how Welsley called about 5 hours after she was gone. Investigators has seized the following: cellphones, three vehicles, laptops, and surveillance footage from the neighborhood. They have already sent out an Amber alert, but no one has any clues as to what happened.

This incident happened in Richardson Texas and Sherin went missing at the 900 block of Sunningdale. She is 3 feet tall, 22 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing leggings, pink flip-flops, a pink long sleeved shirt, and has a developmental disability.

Personally, I find Wesley Mathews as a horrible person and father. Whatever the reason there may be, abandoning your child is the last thing to ever do. Also his story just seems incredibly suspicious. Why would he call the police after 5 hours of realizing she was gone? Even officer Kevin Perlich said "That does not seem like a normal response that one would do if you have a missing child,".

"Anyone with information about Sherin Mathews or her location is asked to contact the Richardson Police Department at 972-744-4800"

  1. I just don't get why he would think that leaving a 3 yr old girl outside for not drinking milk is a good idea. 1. If your gonna' punish her, why couldn't be a punishment that actually makes sense and why weren't you watching her? 2. If I'm missing a child, i'm gonna' call somebody straight away so I feel that her situation has more to do with him than he's letting on.

  2. This is incredibly suspicious, and I'm glad the police are taking action. No reasonable or responsible parent would leave their toddler with a developmental disability outside unattended and not watch them.

  3. I agree his story doesn't seem like it would check out, but you can't file a missing persons report until after 24 hrs of their disappearance. However his reasoning behind his punishment just seems absurd, the child was only 3 years old.

  4. The story doesn't add up, who leaves there child in the backyard unattendted at 3:00 am, let alone a child with a developmental disability. Regarding this it alarms me that an adoption agency/foster home/orphange or wherever this little girl came from allowed neglectful parents to adopt her.
