Mass La Shooting Kills 59 and More Than 527 Are Injured | Chloe Villa-Abrille

Yesterday was a terrible day, one that will echo through out history to mark the day innocent bystanders of a concert in LA were brutality shot in the masses. 59 confirmed dead and wounding 527 or more, lives changed just from one crazed man that was given too much power. This man was Stephen Paddock, he opened fire at the Mandalay Bay Resort (which was 80 miles away causing the search to be difficult) and targeted those at the Jason Aldean concert. People of all ages were attending the show, and what was supposed to be a happy time quickly became a devastating one as  the performance stage cut to black and blankets of fire could be heard, screaming erupted and everyone one is on the ground in a panic. Some people try to aid others, hide, or escape. One group of people hid in a mobile freezer, another group of people reported were trying to help the injured, such as a young girl that was shot in the head, sadly she was lost and past the efforts of others, there were also many other events of brave and kind people offering help and bring those they could to safety and hospitals. Police rushed to the scenes but had a hard time identifying where the shooter was the conflict of choosing other to help those in need or to take out the shooter before the amount of injured increased only cause more chaos. The police did find who the terrorist was, but he managed to kill himself before they could capture him.

This article reports on an extremely horrid and devastating event that will hopefully call for more precautions to be taken so something like this wont happen again. This event marks one of the largest US mass shooting, which is something that wouldn’t have happen if gun control was more rigorous. Many other countries go through the important checks of having to check mental health, gain permits, check backgrounds, and require classes before anyone can own a gun, and these processes are what keeps mass shootings from happening and they help prevents horrible events like these, but instead the US will most likely retain the amendment and laws allowing easy and little consequences of owning a gun. Over all the precautions and limitations over who own a gun can be enforced and mass shootings like this can be stoped, so why do we continue to allow this to happen, how many more people will have to suffer before steps towards improvement are seriously made?
