Wildfires Devastate Northern Carolina Counties

Northern California, specifically the Sonoma, Napa and Yuba counties are currently being hit with a massive wildfire. There has been a total of 15 separate fires, which have covered a total of 212,000 acres collectively.  33 people have already been confirmed dead, as well as hundreds of people being reported missing and these numbers are continuing to accumulate. Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency for the three counties that are being the most effected. Many of the residents have moved to safer ares, as well as people in surrounding counties in case the fires continue passed their estimated distance.

We even see the effects of the wildfire in San Mateo county, with unhealthy air quality. This is a clear sign of one of the effects of global warming. 2017 has been one of the hottest years on record, and the hot, dry conditions are the reason such a big fire can break out. I hope that all those affected will hopefully recover quickly and that the losses decline.

  1. Ive written many comments about global warming and its so sad to see we could have prevented a disaster like this. Wildfires aid in the release of greenhouse gases which eventually cause more wildfires and more global warming effects. Its horrible.

  2. Global warming has been happening for years, and it is time that we take action. I know people that have been affected by these fires, and their houses have burnt to the ground. Global warming has reached a new level and it needs to be stopped.
